Chloe Necklace

I fossicked in the dichroic bead drawer and made the Chloe necklace.. A set of 46 hand made dichroic glass beads together with 26 copper spacers and a clasp and other metal elements in rolled gold. Rolled gold is 14 carat bold bonded to a base metal and is thicker than a plating of gold.

Average size of individual beads is 10mm x 9mm and come in a variety of colours from teal greens, oranges and blue.

The beads are all irregular shaped due to the need to avoid exposing the bead to the naked flame which of course is very difficult when you are working with a naked flame. Once the glass is wound onto the mandrel one must not go back and try to reheat for further shaping. Tricky business!

Overall length of the necklace is 17 inches.
