Ode to Italy
This is a necklace is simply overflowing with colour. There's a plethora of murrini necklaces in all the tourist spots of Italy but I found only one like this and bought it. The only difference is the beads were smaller and knotted in-between so when I got home I thought why not make something similar. This is the third one in black and I have made 3 also with a red base and a beautiful set of earrings and a bracelet in aqua. Each bead (38 in total) is a base of black with a murrini chip (different either side) applied. The shape is round at first with decoration applied and then heated and flattened to produce the tab shape.
All metal components are Stirling silver. Necklace measures 18"/45cm in length and each bead averages 14 x 12 x 5mm.
Bracelet and earrings can be made to match this for a complete set so please contact me to discuss any options you would enjoy.
Hand made at in my Busselton studio in the Margaret River Region of south western Australia.
