Landscape in Glass

I'm so inspired by the coastal and landscape scenery in the beautiful southwest of Western Australia. Trees are our earth's lungs, my mother loved trees and the beauty of nature and I'm so glad she taught me to notice. I've developed this style of work where the construction of the bead is part controlled part serendipitous. The process of detailing the actual tree requires some precision and is applied after the shape is pressed but the background is always surprising. There is a matt finish to these beads which initially came about to overcome the tendency of opaque turquoise looking dirty in the finished bead. Also there is a tree on either side of this bead which might take some close inspection to realise.
